Cynthia’s Work

About my work – Integral Therapies

My work has a spiritual basis and an emphasis on coming into the body. The underlying belief is that we are spiritual beings in bodies, here for a short time, to learn or to do certain things. Each person’s journey is unique; only the inner heart knows the way.

My intent is to hold a space where that inner heart of knowing can be heard, and the courage found to follow its promptings. Trauma, shock and unhealed wounds have a way of disconnecting us from our own knowing and orienting us to outer authorities. These authorities most often do not direct us to our own deepest selves.

In establishing a relationship together, the intent is also to form a relationship with your sources of guidance. Bodily sensations, dreams, synchronicities, and intimations are carefully attended, as are circumstances and conditions, such as illness, relationship dilemmas, or work related concerns.

Whatever it is that has constellated in your life, it is the ground that needs to be worked and tended for consciousness to widen, deepen and expand. We have the opportunity to either continue to add to the karmic traces we encounter, or to truly transform and burn them—to liberate ourselves.

While working cognitively with what we are given is important and necessary, it is also important to address what the body is holding. Any disturbance or concern that arises in our lives, manifests in the body. It must be experienced there for true transformation to occur.

The tools that I bring to this work are: I have daily spiritual practices, and this is truly the foundation of my life. Also, I’m a licensed counselor and bodyworker, and a registered biodynamic craniosacral practitioner. Most often, sessions are an hour and a half, allowing for both verbal work and time on the massage table. The forms of bodywork that I resonate with and practice are those that align with the wisdom, health and intelligence that are present in our organisms, in the midst of whatever may be occurring.

I am passionate about helping you to more fully embody a relationship with the wider deeper and vaster sea of intelligence that is guiding your life. Then this relationship is cultivated and allowed to unfold, a truly distinctive and authentic life becomes possible.

Integral Therapies may be reimbursable with your insurance as psychotherapy.

The forms of bodywork that I practice include:

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy: This work is gentle, non-invasive, and yet powerful. It rests on aligning with inherent health, and recipients often go into profound levels of relaxation and restoration. Working through the fluid system, the work is very systemic and quantum. It rebalances, releases inertial holding patterns, and results in greater ease and fluidity throughout the body.

Fascial Conduction: works to free restrictions and adhesions in the fascial system. The fascial system is and interconnected web, so adhesions or restrictions in one area have a way of effecting the whole body. This work also creates more fluidity, ease and freedom in the body. Many bodyworkers feel that unresolved emotional issues are held in the fascia.

Acupressure: involves the meridians and organ systems.. This work encourages the smooth flow of chi, or life fore along these rivers of energy, and supports the functioning of our organ systems. It is very embodying and health promoting , and is also gently but powerfully effective in releasing shock and trauma from our energetic system.

Massage: works the soft tissue areas of the body, and is relaxing and restorative. Every system in the body is helped by massage, stress, tension and pain are eased, and one naturally comes more into the body.
